Tamper resistance without consumer inconvenience |
Following the successful incorporation of their ‘Virtuweld’ patented technology into packs supplied to Marks and Spencer, Mister Blister Ltd who developed the concept are launching their own range of food packaging. Gary Briscoe, Managing Director of the Manchester based Company explains: “Food retailers are demanding that pack closures are more secure, giving better protection and keeping food fresher whilst on display, but at the same time the consumer needs to be able to easily open and reseal the packs once purchased. “Virtuweld is a folding blister that has the look and feel of a welded pack and a unique patented locking system making it quick and easy to pack without the hassle and cost of secondary sealing. “The positioning of easy-to-grip pull tabs beneath the product label means that the consumer can easily open the packs once purchased, but only by tearing the label which would be clear evidence of tampering if done in-store.” Mr Briscoe continued “The response to the Marks and Spencer packs has been so good that we have decided to develop our own range of tamper-resistant food packs and are very excited about the potential applications for Virtuweld within this sector.” Continued investment into the latest thermoforming equipment and the recent installation of their own PVC extrusion line at their modern, purpose built factory on the outskirts of Manchester means that prices and lead times are competitive and the future for Mister Blister is as secure as their packaging!
