Our Commitment to Sustainability
First Choice Packaging is committed to responsible environmental stewardship and sustainability practices. We have instituted a number of procedures that demonstrate that commitment, and we continue to look for even more ways that embrace sustainability.
From internal processes that save energy, to external consulting that helps our clients be more ecologically efficient, we consider environmental impact in all of our day-to-day operations and decisions.
For example, we have replaced approximately 400 light bulbs in our Fremont, Ohio plant with a more energy-efficient option. This has cut usage and costs by nearly 70%.
Additionally, when working with our customers, we can offer superior recycled plastics that provide a viable alternative to standard non-recyclable plastics. Because of these recent efforts in pioneering the use of 100% post-consumer recycled plastics, our own Steve Thomas, national sales manager, was invited to speak at the 2009 Pack Expo. Thomas presented case-history examples of commercial applications using Eco-Therm, a new 100% Post-Consumer Content Recycled PET.
